O-kkk! (Wiz Voice)
My homie Jason Fong blessed me with a new logo to use to start off the New Year, and along the way he chronicled it's inception, from his sketches with pencil and paper...
And with a little bit of fine tuning...
the finished product
And up next on my list of friends, we have the very talented, 5 hour energy runs in her blood, insightful, motivational, hood rat, classy, and all too comical Annie Lou.
I've known Annie since the beginning of my college days, and she's always kept it 100% Besides running her website/blog, she has been doing custom art for some time. About two years back, she approached me to do a painting. Of all the things I could choose, I chose a voting picture of my Lola from back in the day.
Fast forward to three years later... Annie invites me to her studio downtown for me to see the finished product. I gotta say, I like how you work Lou. Per Annie, a lot of her paintings remain unfinished until she feels like getting to to it, i.e. my painting that was conceived 3 years ago, but really painted in one day. LOL
And there we have it, a new family air loom, something my family would truly appreciate. My lola, the OG "godfather" of the family. I swear she handled "family biz" at parties and sat in the back room getting her finger kissed. Maybe I'll share more about her one day, one of the biggest influences in my life, and she raised me right.
Thank You Annie for blessing me with your 1 of 1, for unknowingly painting my own memories onto your own canvas. Visit www.annielouwho.com to browse or purchase her work
honestly...I was hella mean mugging, Annie was smurkin' like a school girl, in the end, salvaged picture.
Fly girl of the year, Dinosaur egg eating Lou (Too cool not to post on the blog, Annie)
Cooler than Annie? Ramen comes pretty close and it's awesome for my blood pressure. It's my new 2011 addiction, and the place around the corner is open till 3 AM.
Whole Foods Blossom Hill, the best thing to happen to SSJ since I left. Ran into the man who beat Bobby Flay in the Food Network's "Throwdown", the Bay Areas own DJ Mr. E
Shout out to the Papalote brothers. If you're ever in the Mission, make sure to stop by Papalote for some authentic SF Mission District Mexican grubs.
I might have the only two bottles in San Diego, so if you want a taste test, you know who to call.
My trip back home, I uncovered a shoe box, aka the high school box of memories, when digital cameras didn't exist and it was all about disposable cameras. Picture of my 1st DJ set up, my 1st gig, Dstrukt & Eternal aka Earritate. Neil Armstrong working at TTL NYC, Goldenchyld, the 1st time I touched turntables with a class by Wish One, and what really got me (right in the center) an old picture with Roc Raida R.I.P. PRICELESS
PTO approved. Travel suggestions anyone?
I hit you back on an e-mail. Glad you like the logo. Safe travels.
